2013 family photos

I am (obviously) eons behind in my blogging, but I do want to make sure I highlight some of the bigger moments of the last few months when my posting wasn't very plentiful.

We had family photos taken in late October by Regina of Regina Peterson Photography. I highly recommend her if you're in the Bradenton/Sarasota area. I loved the park we were at because there was a lot of greenery but it was also right on the water.

Tim thought having photos taken just a few short months after Wesley's newborn photos was overkill, but Wesley had changed a lot in those first three months, and I was thankful to have updated family photos for our Christmas card and gifts. It was windy the day of our photos and Wesley was especially drool-y. Elle was especially uncooperative, but Regina still managed to get several good shots :)

Here are a few of my faves:

Florida lately

We have had A LOT of rain lately. I think the weatherman said today that we'll likely have seven inches over 3-4 days by the end of this weekend.

But on Sunday when Tim and I went out to dinner on his dinner break (we were celebrating our six month and two day anniversary and a rare dinner out together), I saw the rainbow above. It was a nice reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things :-)

We need the rain. And I like rain. But it's hard to not sleep in or want to take a nap when it's dark and gray outside and the rhythm of rain and thunder are lulling you back to sleep. At work, the storms are always exciting - the sports department is in the corner of the building and we're lined by windows. I LOVE looking out at the lightning and the clouds coming in.

Luckily, because the Rays play in a domed stadium, we don't have to worry about rain delays or postponements - because we would have had no baseball in the last few days. Even the Big East tournament, being played in Clearwater at the Phillies spring training facility, has been rained out, delayed, rescheduled, postponed, etc. for days.

My 30-40 minute commute to work? That's been somewhat terrifying. We're talking about sheets of rain coming down while I'm driving over huge bridges (I drive over the one at left, the Sunshine Skyway - which deserves it's own post at a later date - twice a day).

Weather in Florida is wacky.

P.S. Two minutes after I posted this a tornado warning was announced for the county north of us - the one I used to live in and still work in. Ahhhh, Florida.

Worth the wait

Oh, this isn't the real post. You're not all that lucky. But I just wanted (any of) our readers to know that I'll recap our big weekend in Ohio - complete with pictures by both Tim and I (!) and let you all know about our unexpectedly eventful return to Florida.

Intrigued? Stay tuned ...

Welcome!

I feel like there's a lot going on in our lives down here that we aren't able to share with our families and friends. I read a lot of wedding planning blogs, food blogs, random blogs, etc. and felt like it might be a good idea for us to have one, too. We'll try to post frequently - about wedding planning, weird/special events in our lives, our daily lives and so on.

This will likely be a sporadic forum, but we hope you enjoy it, follow it and comment on it!

-Kristin
