My friend Nikki's husband was in the ER and transferred to Duke for some troubling, puzzling medical issues earlier this week. Jon was sent home on Monday but is still in some back pain after having three spinal taps done in the span of two days.
A message from Jon (written on Monday) is below:
Hey everyone, jon here. I'm home - and very sore. I went through 3 spinal taps, two MRIs, two CT scans, and more blood tests that I can remember. The final diagnosis, was, well, no real diagnosis. They still considered me kind of a medical mystery.
I can't thank everyone enough for the outpouring of love and support I received. To be honest, that's a big part of what got me through. My face is still not functioning properly, and probably won't for quite a while. I look forward to seeing you all again soon, though, and I'm blessed to have friends like you.
