Sorrrryyy!

Sorry for the absence! For a while, nothing exciting was happening. Then all of sudden we were in a flurry of travel and the dust still hasn't settled!

Tim and I just got back from a seven-day, six-night vacation in California, which I will blog about in the next few days (I'm going to break it down day-by-day).

Before that, we were in Ohio for a quick visit/wedding of the first friend I made in Ohio and her husband, who was in band with me in high school.

During our whirl-wind tour, we got to see several of my friends from college, several of my high school buddies,

took a trip to PA to visit with my grandma, who had just gotten out of the hospital,

visited the Pro Football Hall of Fame for the first time while Tim and my brother-in-law golfed,

played lots of cards with my siblings and mom, baked with my little brother, visited one of my best friends and her family (including a daughter I hadn't seen in more than a year!),

and Tim went to Cincinnati for an evening and saw a Reds game with some of his cousins.

It was a fantastic (although short) trip, especially considering we hadn't seen anyone since our wedding in November! We didn't get to see Tim's family (except for his brief time with his cousins at the ball game) but expect to see a lot of them this fall - all of the people in the photo above are getting married! Travis, on the left, is marrying Jessica (not pictured), in October. And Ryan and Holly, on the right, are getting married a little over a month later. So there will be plenty of trips to the O-H this fall.

After we returned, I helped tri-host a going away party for my good friend, Julia, which mostly entailed making a bunch of fun desserts. And in the middle of all of that, I've been busy with a business I launched. Next week, class starts up again, and my good friend Lindsey (Isabella's mom) and some of her friends are coming to visit over Labor Day weekend. (I'm even going to host a jewelry party!)

Other than packing and unpacking suitcases, Tim has been busy golfing, watching Reds games and enjoying Hard Knocks, a show on HBO about the Bengals training camp. He also started reporting two days a week at the paper - they've lost so many people that they needed to take him off his editing/designing duties part-time, so he works a crazy schedule of three night shifts and two day shifts each week.
