How far along? 17 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: I haven't weighed myself this week, but I'm guessing I'm up a bit. (See the Movement and Food cravings sections below ...)
Maternity clothes? Wearing more maternity shirts now.
Stretch marks? Nope.
Best moment this week: Finding out my sister-in-law is having a baby girl! (She's due about 3 weeks before me.)
Symptoms: Return of the need to eat saltines a few nights at work, RLP, headaches, vivid pregnancy dreams.
Movement: I was swamped with work last week and didn't get to the gym much, but I've started taking breaks at work and climbing a few short flights of stairs to get some extra movement in my day. I've been feeling more tickles/nudges from Baby W., too.
Food cravings: Ray Kroc must loooovvveee me. I went to McDonald's one day for lunch (it was Ash Wednesday and I wanted a Filet-O-Fish sandwich). That night, I decided I wanted another and stopped on my way home. On Saturday, I got myself some more Filet-O-Fish. And this time, they had Shamrock shakes! My coworkers mentioned Pizza Hut on Thursday night, and it was an easily conspired dinner. Soooo good. Yesterday I satisfied a 24-hour-old craving for carrot cake. (It's a vegetable, so it's healthy!) I'm trying to eat well despite my cravings but not deprive myself - this week's cravings have been very strong and very hard to put out of my mind.
Aversions: I had some nausea a few nights this week, so I went with the saltines. Other than that my appetite has been much better and I've been able to eat better, in terms of both how much I'm eating and what I'm eating.
Gender? I still think it's a girl. However, I thought my sister-in-law was having a boy, so maybe I'm all backward on this gender instinct thing.
Sleep: I slept well but apparently not enough. I've been exhausted for the past week. I'm also having a bit of trouble rolling over, so every time I wake to toss and turn (which is fairly often), it's quite a process.
What I miss: The beginning of my second trimester. I feel like time is flying too fast and there's a lot I still want/need to do. I've hearing from a lot of women in their third trimester who keep talking about how tired they've gotten at the end of their pregnancy, and I'm hoping I don't get too drained in the last few months.
What I am looking forward to: Our ultrasound in a week!
Weekly Wisdom: Try not to stress out over things you can't control.
Milestones: Registering for childbirth education/baby basics classes and buying our first big baby purchase. And it was my mom's birthday yesterday - her last before the arrival of two grandchildren!

Cry baby... hahaha. Love it.
ReplyDeleteYour baby's getting so big floating around in there. I remember when that baby was bouncing around everywhere in that widget. Space is getting smaller!
ReplyDeleteLisa, I know! It's killing me that the days are ticking by so fast, too! I feel like Widget Baby must be bored - I want to throw some toys in there.
