Cat confusion

Our cats seem to be aware of the fact that *something* is going on. I'm getting fatter, we go to the doctor early in the morning every four Tuesdays, we're bringing a lot of new things in to the condo and the spare room/office/soon-to-be-office is a battle zone. Mario is usually the first one to the bathroom when I've been sick - not like he's offering help or holding my hair back, but he knows something isn't right.

So far, they've pretty much avoided the pile of baby stuff we've been accumulating. Sometimes Sidney will start to chew on the corner of a gift bag, or Mario will poke around and decide there is nothing of interest to him there.

But two weeks ago, when I celebrated the end of my class+the nearing expiration of a Babies 'R Us coupon by doing a little shopping, and the "baby corner" became the feline hot spot. My main mission for the shopping trip was to buy our changing pad. I brought it home and put it on top of the pile of stuff that has been handed down to us or gifted at the shower. (A pile I am very much looking forward to disassembling upon new carpet installation/building of the dresser, thankyouverymuch.)

And Mario promptly climbed the pile and settled in on the changing pad. Apparently Babies 'R Us sells cat beds in the form of 3-sided changing pads.

  2. Looks like a perfect fit to me. Ours were quite upset they weren't allowed in the nice cushie "cat bed" we set up next to our bed.
