And I know its all out of our control, but it was always fun to imagine. Sometimes we'd default to the idea that our future son might look like Tim's nephews, who are absolutely adorable. Tim's nephews look a lot like Tim and his brother, Todd, looked like as children.
But now that we're expecting, and now that we know we're having a girl, I often wonder what she'll look like. The 3D ultrasound gave us a tiny, early peek at her general facial structure - but I have no idea if she has hair now, or how her face has filled out, or if she'll have Tim's eyes or my short legs when she grows up.
On our wedding day, we had a morning ceremony, afternoon reception and a casual after-party at Dave and Buster's. Dave and Buster's had this super-fun machine that would take photos of two people and mold them together to create an image of what their future offspring might look like. Several people from our wedding ended up using this machine, and I must say, I think we were all a bit disturbed by the results.
We chose to create an infant daughter from our images. I'm a tad terrified by our lopsided-ear "daughter" with a mohawk. I know there are programs online that would allow me to input photos of us and create a composite "child" - but really, I don't put much stock in to them, and in just a few short months, we'll be able to actually *see* what our genes have created. (And hopefully she'll have more normal ears.)
But I always knew this photo would come in handy and love that it is from the day we became husband and wife :)
Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones talking, but (ears aside) that's a pretty cute baby! You definitely have to do a side by side of little Ellie and her hypothetical sister.
ReplyDeleteOh Kristin, I love this post! It's so perfect and I love that you two did this on your wedding day - it could not be more appropriate!
