How far along? 35 weeks, which means 35 days "to go" - at least, 35 days until I hit 40 weeks. Soooo ... 35/35!
Maternity clothes? Indeed.
Stretch marks? Nothing new. My weight (which I have been much happier with in the last month and a half) is still below my all-time highest, but we're approaching the all-time high, so I'm on the lookout for skin boldly going where it has not gone before.
Best moment this week: Taking some time for me and getting a lot of stuff done - an accomplished mommy is a happy mommy! And for some insane reason, I'm attempting new crafts and am excited to see how they turn out.
Symptoms: Some insanely intense back pain at work - I've tried to make sure I get up a lot more often so I'm not sitting for such long stretches. A lot more pressure lower in my abdomen. It feels like things are really stretching out in my lower belly. Cramps and twinges. Fatigue. I have a new skin tag on my neck. It's annoying, but hormone elevations during pregnancy can cause the formation of skin tags, so at least I know *why* I have the weird growth.
Movement: Elle has been uber active around my bedtime. Feet are poking out more often, super strong kicks are pummeling my kidneys and my bladder is getting punched. She's had really strong hiccups a lot in the mornings, and so far, they've all be low, so I'm thinking she's still (huge) head-down.
Food cravings: I haven't been all that hungry. I'm trying to work in a lot of fruits and veggies, but there are days where absolutely nothing sounds good.
Aversions: Still strawberry cream cheese.
Gender? It's a girl!
Sleep: Sleep is OK. I'm sleeping a lot but still getting up several times a night - probably about 4-6 times a night. Bleh.
What I miss: Not getting weird looks at the gym ... the old people look at me in shock, the guys look at me almost with pride, admiration or just ignore me, and the girls look at me with pity as they work on obtaining or maintaining their swimsuit bodies. I'm a vessel of life, ladies - I don't care if you think I'm going to give birth on the elliptical next to you, and I certainly don't expect that my 30 minutes of cardio is going to give me the abs you're working so hard to keep for the summer.
What I am looking forward to: Picking out an outfit for Elle to come home in, getting more stuff done and filling our new freezer :) The highlight of my week was buying a small chest freezer - with breast milk and eventually homemade baby food, I expect our already-cramped freezer to fill fast and stay full. I like to stock up on foods when they're on sale, and Target had a small chest freezer on sale this week ... so we bought one, and now I'm looking forward to making lots of food for us to be able to just heat up in the weeks after the baby arrives. It will also be nice to cook ahead when I'm back to work and don't want to deal with it, as well as buy food when it is on sale, not just as-we-need-it-and-have-space-to-store-it. Tim was a little amazed at how happy this freezer makes me :)
Weekly Wisdom: Freezers and new crafts make me happy!
Milestones: Elle will be full-term in two weeks, and after our doctor's appointment next Tuesday, we start going every week, and I'll be having internal exams to see how things are progressing. The baby monitor is set up, the baby gear is ready for a baby, and laundry and other preparations are in good shape for whenever Elle wants to arrive!
