36 weeks

Baby is still the size of a honeydew.

How far along? 36 weeks - one more until we're full-term! In the ninth month of pregnancy!

(35 weeks, 6 days. I - and my bladder - think she's dropped a bit!)

Maternity clothes? Indeed.

Stretch marks? Nopers.

Best moment this week: My niece was born on Wednesday! My sister-in-law wasn't due until July 15, so the fact that she's now had her baby makes it reallllly real that ours is coming soon.

Symptoms: Back pain, frequent (as in ridiculously frequent) peeing, the discovery that I seem to have a slight form of melasma on my forehead, but other than that, nothing awful. I'm still not waddling, I'm still able to eat and move mostly like normal, and as long as I get up from my desk every hour or so at work, I'm not in terrible pain. Tim and I were talking last night about how well my pregnancy has gone, though, and I know I've been lucky - even my blood pressure and urine checks have been good at every appointment, and aside from my rapid weight gain a few months ago, I have been a (thankfully) boring patient at my OB's office. I'm also thankful that I'm still able to workout and sleep well, and aside from wearing flip-flops 85% of the time, my swelling hasn't really changed my life, either.

Movement: Elle's hiccups are stronger, and she seems to finally be running out of room - she doesn't move quite as frequently, although when she moves, she MOVES. I'm still hitting the gym 4-6 times a week, although we've reached the point where I won't go without Tim or my cell phone.

Food cravings: Last night it was candy and Poptarts. (This, after a huge, nice dinner out. Classy.) In general, ice cream, fresh fruit, cake, caffeine, wine ...

Aversions: Still strawberry cream cheese.

Gender? It's a girl!

Sleep: I'm sleeping well except for the trips to the bathroom every 90 minutes or so.

What I miss: I've totally reached a point where I miss alcohol. I'm not a heavy drinker, but I miss having the option to drink - I had pretty much cut all alcohol out for a month or two before we even found out we were pregnant, so it has been a while. I've requested mudslides, white russians and white wine for my post-delivery meal, although I'm pretty sure hospital policy will put a crimp on my all-liquid diet.

What I am looking forward to: Alcohol :) But seriously, I'm excited for our doctor's appointment next week - not thrilled about an internal exam, but I'm eager to find out what - if any - progress in this labor journey we've made. We've got a few small things left to prepare, and I'll be happy when those are completed, too.

Weekly Wisdom: Heating pads are your friend.

Milestones: First niece! Finished our last childbirth education class last night! Had my Strep B test today! My weight is still doing well! Last week before full-term baby time! Tim installed the car seat bases in our cars! Whee!
