38 weeks

Baby is still the size of a WATERMELON.

How far along? 38 weeks!

38 weeks!

Maternity clothes? Indeed.

Stretch marks? Nopers.

Best moment this week: Finishing up the nursery, getting a belated shower gift from a friend (who happens to be a professional photographer) - a gift certificate for her to shoot a newborn session when Elle arrives!

Symptoms: Holy crap my hands hurt. I wake up and can't flatten out my hands and can't make a fist because the joints are so stiff. By the end of the day I usually have full use of all but a few stiff fingers. Heartburn is still plaguing me. Still having some contractions, but nothing consistent or frequent. And my feet swell up to huge proportions on a daily basis.

Movement: Elle is enjoying kicking the crap out of her mother. I'm enjoying scaring the crap out of people at the gym.

Food cravings: Ice cream, pudding, yogurt ... basically anything cold and milk-based. With the heat and heartburn, they just taste good.

Aversions: Still strawberry cream cheese.

Gender? It's a girl!

Sleep: Not bad aside from going to the bathroom every hour.

What I miss: Not feeling fat. I know I'm "all belly" and I'm actually quite pleased with my weight/ability to remain active overall, but there is only so much one can take when nothing fits and you're constantly swollen.

What I am looking forward to: Our appointment next week. I feel like there will be a lot more answers on where we go from here, and we get to see the baby again!

Weekly Wisdom: When you tell the AAA woman who is checking your car seat installation how much you are dilated, your husband is likely to say "Annnddddd now you're sharing too much."

Milestones: Tim has proclaimed that he is ready for the baby to arrive (apparently all it takes are batteries in the swing and the changing pad to be secured to the dresser). The nursery is ready to go, and we're just waiting for labor to start ... or our next appointment. Whatever comes first.
