Things I didn't expect ...

... from my first two or so weeks with Elle:

* to breastfeed at an aquarium.

* to breastfeed at the vet's office.

* to breastfeed at Chipotle.

* the carts at Target? Way small. Carts at Publix and Walmart? Big enough where I can comfortably place the carseat and stuff a few things around the baby.

* how good it feels to sleep for just three hours straight.

* how scared I would be of Elle's umbilical cord.

* how thrilled I would be when it finally fell off.

* how creative I can be when trying to get a poopy onesie off a wriggly newborn without smearing poop all over her hands and face.

* how funny Elle's face is when she has Vitamin D drops.

* how cute it is to hear Tim sing "their" special song to her.

* how willing Tim is to change diapers.

* how much my daughter eats and how desperate she acts when she's "starving."

* how little time I have from Elle starting to have a meltdown and it turning in to a full-blown disaster.

* how fast our baby's eyelashes are growing.

* how sad it is to hear Elle cry or see her tears.

* how sweet it is to calm her down after she's all worked up.

* how time is going faster than I expected it to.
