Rollin'

My sister is visiting this week, and today we spent some time with friends watching football. After the game, we headed to the grocery store while Tim and the baby went home.

When we got home from the store, Tim said we'd missed quite the milestone. Seeing the baby in a new outfit and knowing she was due for quite a pooplosion, I figured we'd missed out on a very messy diaper. But Tim said the poopy diaper would have been the headline had her first time rolling over not occurred.

I figured it was a fluke. I was glad he saw it, but I didn't think it would happen again any time soon.

But then ... Tim was watching TV in another room later tonight, and Marti and I were hanging out with Elle in the living room. I put Elle down on her quilt for tummy time, and as I reached for a toy to put in front of her, I realized she had rolled over underneath me.

Marti caught the tail-end of the roll, and as I called to Tim that she had rolled again, I put her on her stomach. She rolled over again. This time I asked Marti to pass me my camera, and I caught the fourth roll of the day on video! She rolled to the left the first two times and to the right the third and fourth times, but she also rolled more fluidly the first three times (i.e. not the one I caught on video when she got stuck on her side).

I know she's still young, but it was exciting to see the milestone - and see her repeat it! We had quite a good day with a very happy baby - and as Tim pointed out to Elle, it isn't every day our baby rolls over.
