Sitting pretty

"What, Mom? This is small potatoes. Sitting is for babies."
Elle has been sitting unassisted for brief periods of time for several weeks. Nothing so stable that I would step away from her or let her play around on a cement floor, but enough that I could let go and watch her sit. (Some readers might remember the fun I had with her instability in video form.)

She might have been sitting unassisted for extended periods of time around our babysitters, but Tim and I hadn't seen it - until today.

I'm deeming her seven-month birthday as the mark of the unassisted sitting milestone. I was playing with her this morning and she had a few wobbles - but steadied herself. She sat and played with some blocks while I took photos, and she didn't fall. Later, she sat on a picnic table at a baseball game. And then tonight I parked her on the floor to show Tim.

Our little girl is growing up!

  2. After they sit up, the milestones come fast and furious...

    Adorable, by the way. :-)

  4. Meg, she got a ton of toys for Christmas that we asked for off of some list of top-rated toys - I think it was from Babycenter, maybe? Or one of those sites. I'm guessing you and I are familiar with lots of the same toys :) Valli, every day she seems to be a little more mobile and little more "grown up." Scary/exciting! Megan, does your LO try to pick at the flowers on the Boppy? Elle seems to think she can get them off :)
