Christmas wrap up

I was so moved by the "Christmas past vs. Christmas present" at the end of my last post that I kind of ended our Christmas recap prematurely. You're not missing anything exciting, but for the sake of keeping accurate records, I'll finish up here.

After we got home from church, I worked on our Christmas dinner while Elle played with the new toys. We enjoyed a large meal (and dessert, which was Tim's traditional birthday "cake"), then naturally, we all took naps! It was glorious. Then Tim had to go to work, and Elle and I video chatted with my family. The only other productive thing we did was to go for a run, and the rest of the night was full of leftovers and playing with new toys.

On Monday, we headed out for lunch at a water-front restaurant and walked along the water.

The water and sky were absolutely gorgeous.
Unfortunately, it was rather windy and cold (for Florida, I mean), so we didn't do too much beaching. Elle was content to stay warm in a sweatshirt as long as we let her little legs keep moving.

There were meltdowns if you tried to stop her from walking.
The rest of the day was pretty normal - Elle and I checked out the post-Christmas clearance at Target while Tim did some work from home. Then I had an appointment to go to, so Elle and Daddy ate dinner and hung out for a while.

A lovely Christmas weekend was had by all :)
