It has been rather quiet on the blog lately, but not in my life. Basically, things have been crazy busy, but when I have the urge to blog I have no time, and when I have time I have no interest in blogging. I'm going to try to carve out some time this week to catch up.

We sold Tim's Bowflex, and Elle was "inspecting" it before it was picked up.
In
our continued efforts to declutter, simply and save money, we've been selling a ton of stuff on Craigslist and to friends lately. And because of this (and many donations to Goodwill), we're getting rid of our storage unit. Which means we'll be saving a nice chunk of change each month. Win, win, win.

The train that initially freaked Elle out.
Speaking of saving money, I hit up an awesome kids' consignment sale last weekend and scored big on some clothes for Elle and an awesome little train toy that she first feared, now loves. The next day, we took advantage of some sales and gift cards and found some great deals at Old Navy's friends and family sale. I usually have so-so luck with clothes for myself at ON, but I found a pair of jeans for $8. EIGHT DOLLARS. And they fit well, are cute and have nothing wrong with them. I don't find jeans easily, and when I find them easily for the cost of a burrito bowl at Chipotle, I BUY. I also found a ton of awesome stuff for Elle, including
this shirt for 67 cents. The most expensive thing we bought was a Tampa Bay Rays shirt for Tim that was $13 (I continue to try and work my thrifty mojo on the man, but he continues to resist - still, not a bad deal on the shirt). AND I had a gift card, so got several items, didn't pay anything and actually have a sizable balance remaining for future shopping trips.

"Letter A."
I'm working on a post of Elle's 19-month happenings and habits, but this cracked me up last weekend: She was eating a waffle before church, and I was sitting next to her drinking my coffee. She started pointing to one piece of waffle and said "letter A." The kid scares me with her smarts.
I was walking past Elle's room last weekend and heard a soft thud, much like the noise her dresser drawers make when they slide closed. I was a bit freaked out - either something was in there with Elle or she had gotten out of the crib and was playing around with the furniture. (She had also peed on the floor on this night, so I was kind of feeling like anything could happen.) I had Tim open the door and check things out, and we had to look twice to find Elle, in the crib. Apparently she had slept through rolling in to the side of the crib - the thud I had heard was her head hitting the wooden slats.
Wow - she is so, so smart! I'm looking forward to her 19 month update. I love reading about all the cute stuff she's saying these days.
