34 weeks

Baby is the size of a honeydew.

How far along? 34 weeks.

(34 weeks. Graduated from Prepared Childbirth/Lamaze class!)

Maternity clothes? Indeed.

Stretch marks? Nothing new.

Best moment this week: I had a really good weigh-in, which I'm guessing is partially the result of the 2010 Food Poisoning Plague and frequent trips to the gym last week. The baby's heartbeat sounded great at our doctor's appointment, and we're still measuring well. I bought some more of our baby essentials and worked on the nursery a lot (posts to come soon!), which felt really good. And Tim told some friends of ours how proud he is that I'm not waddling. It's the little things, folks.

Symptoms: Heartburn - not anything new, but the fact that it starts earlier in the day and doesn't let up is a recent development. Swelling. Occasional shortness of breath. Frequent need to pee. Nothing terrible, but nothing all that convenient or great, either :)

Movement: At our doctor's appointment, Elle had her head down on the right side of my pelvis. Which meant that all morning, I got kicks in the left kidney because of her diagonal position :) She's been rolling around a lot and poking and kicking all over the place. I have been to the gym a lot in the last 10 days, but my cardio workouts have been a bit shorter and less strenuous. My stamina has taken a hit with my sickness and my growing size, but I'm staying active.

Food cravings: Pasta. Sandwiches. Watermelon. Mac and cheese. Ice cream. Water. Cake. It has been all over the place.

Aversions: Still strawberry cream cheese.

Gender? It's a girl!

Sleep: Sleep hasn't been as great, but I mostly struggle to get to sleep. As soon as I drift off, I need to pee. And my pre-pregnancy Restless Leg Syndrome is in full force, but I can't take my medication for it and just try to deal with it.

What I miss: I never thought I'd miss my small bladder, but since it is even smaller now, I miss it!

What I am looking forward to: Checking more things off our to-do list, finishing childbirth education classes.

Weekly Wisdom: Try not to fixate on the fact that your baby is large. It will not help matters.

Milestones: Started packing the hospital bag, started stocking up on household stuff, made more progress on the nursery, finished our five-week Prepared Childbirth/Lamaze class. Speaking of labor ... I've created a new poll with some different scenarios for how/when/where I'll go in to labor. You can vote for more than one option, so if you think my water will break while I'm at work, vote now! Or if you think I'll start having contractions during the day while I'm home, vote now! My next poll will be about the duration of labor ... we're getting close!
