Building a baby's bookshelf

Because the bookshelf involved the least drama of all of the furniture, I will share the story of it with you all first.

I originally thought I wanted a wider, squatter 9-cube shelf. But then I thought about the room and the other pieces of furniture and decided I wanted something more vertical. I had bought the 9-cube shelf on sale and returned it ... and a few weeks later they went on sale again and we purchased the 8-cube shelf.

Construction of this puppy was rather easy - I did it in less than an hour while I dawdled and watched Grey's Anatomy :) Sidney enjoyed the cubes a lot, too. He was like a little gopher or prairie dog. The colored bins are currently full of small toys, pacifiers, bibs and hats.
