You guys are good!

So in one of my last two polls before Elle's arrival, I asked how large everyone thought she would be. Ten people said 7 pounds to 8 pounds, 15 ounces. At 8 pounds, 2 ounces, you were right. Two people thought she'd truly be Gigantor and nine pounds or more.

My other final poll was about the length of my labor. Here is how the voting broke down for that:

Less than three hours: 1 vote
Less than six hours: 4 votes
6-12 hours: 5 votes
12-18 hours: 6 votes
18-24 hours: 3 votes
24-36 hours: 2 votes
36-48 hours: No votes, yay!

I guess if you count from the time my contractions started (about 2:30 p.m. on Friday) to Elle's birth (11:28 a.m. on Saturday), labor lasted 21 hours. If you count my post-work contractions (after 11 p.m.) until the delivery, it was about 12 hours. And if you count the time we were preparing to go to and were at the hospital, it was about 7 hours or less. So the majority of the votes hit one of those time frames.

  1. :) Yay! I love being right - well at least partially. I got the first one for sure, but the second one I voted 6-12 hours, mostly because I was praying it would be quick and painless for you :) Can't wait to read more of the birthing story!!!
