Did you know that kids eat free at IHOP in August? Mmmm ...

I finally got around to putting cabinet locks on some of our kitchen and bathroom cabinets yesterday. Elle is less than pleased. As I installed them, I thought about how much easier it was than I had anticipated and was satisfied with how firm the lock was ... and also how easy it would be for adults to unlatch them. Well, most adults. I knew that Tim would likely be locked out of the cabinets unless I showed him how to open them. As I installed the last one, I showed him how it would keep Elle out. He said, "Is it me-proof, too?" At least we had the same thought!

I have a set of handmade burp cloths up for auction via Jaclyn over at Snap, Crackle, Pop. The auction is for a great cause - it benefits the school that Jaclyn's autistic brother, Joey, attended for years. The auction is open through tomorrow morning, so hop on over and bid on the burp cloths or watch for other cool auction items :)

And just so you have something cute to look at on your Monday morning:

Yes! Emmett's been really disinterested in food since about 14 months. He usually eats one meal a day (plus breastfeeding). It's so weird, because he'll turn up his nose at something three days in a row and then, on the fourth day, eat all of it and ask for more. Some days he has half a pretzel and rubs a slice of pizza on his face for lunch. The only thing he usually eats with consistency is the fruit smoothies I make him. And Mexican food.
ReplyDeleteSee, Ken and I are totally like Tim when it comes to babyproofing. We keep piling all kinds of junk atop our counters and high shelves because we are less clever than the locks we installed (or maybe just lazy).
I found that the amount Kale ate decreased drastically around the time he started to walk and as he approached a year. They're not growing as quickly AND they have too much to explore and don't have the patience to sit still for so long. I just kept offering healthy foods and if he chose to ate them, that was great, and if not - leftovers for his next meal!
ReplyDeleteI'm finding now that he's starting to eat more (at 15 months) and seems to be experiencing a growth spurt.
I also take comfort in knowing that he's still breastfeeding and getting lots of the good stuff he needs to grow and be healthy from that.
