Week 9 update

Baby is the size of a green olive.

How far along? 9 weeks.

Total weight gain/loss: The scale at home has me down 5 pounds from my earliest pregnancy weight, which makes me about 8 pounds lighter than my annual visit to my OB/GYN earlier this year. The OB's scale has me at four pounds higher than that annual visit. I am not liking his scale AT ALL. Tim pointed out that I weighed in at my appointment toward the end of the day, fully clothed, but that's still about a 12-pound difference. I'll be sticking with my scale, thankyouverymuch.  

Maternity clothes? Nopers.

Best moment this week: First appointment!

Symptoms: Mega nausea, major fatigue.

Movement: Walk/runs whenever I can. I'm trying to take a quick walk on my lunch breaks just to get moving, but some days I'm too busy or it's too hot. I figure something is better than nothing.

Food cravings: Subway. Pasta. Doughnuts (got one after church - delicious!).

Aversions: Pretty much everything. Everything I craved/ate carried the danger of heartburn or left me with a nasty taste in my mouth. So gross :(

Gender? I'm guessing boy.

Sleep: Most nights, sleep is not good. My calves are super tight, I'm tossing and turning a lot and then I keep waking up 45-60 minutes before my alarm and just being awake enough that I can't get more sleep.

What I miss: Not having a nasty taste in my mouth all the time.

What I am looking forward to: Sending out our Christmas cards - we've told most people, but this will be the "big announcement" for many others. After that, we'll probably go Facebook public.

Weekly Wisdom: Just because you crave it doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Milestones: We had our first appointment! We're measuring exactly where I thought we were, and our official due date is July 13, 2013. Baby Bean looked great - and much larger than Elle the first time we saw her (this ultrasound was at 8 weeks, 6 days, and Elle was spotted at 6 weeks, 1 day). It was surreal to see the heart beating and super reassuring to hear that things look good. (Also reassuring that there is only one in there - I seriously thought it might be two because of the awful indigestion, haha.)
