Week 21 update

Baby is the size of a banana. (And this is my 600th post!)

How far along? 21 weeks.

Total weight gain/loss: I'm about four pounds above my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm definitely eating more but trying to keep my cravings for sweets and rich foods to a minimum.

Maternity clothes? Still a mix of both, but definitely can't avoid the maternity clothes any more, especially pants.

Best moment this week: Elle felt the baby kick :). Now she often tries to put her ear by my belly and "hear the baby kick."

Symptoms: Nothing much - some round ligament pain, some minor indigestion, but overall, not feeling too bad except being very tired.

Movement: Baby Boy kicks/punches a lot, especially later at night. He normally perks up around the time I start Elle's bedtime routine (we start bath time around 8 p.m.) and continues the party until 10 or 11 p.m. I had two good weekend workouts - still trying to squeeze more activity in during the week.

Food cravings: Ice cream. Fruit (apples, grapes, bananas, strawberries, mostly).

Aversions: Lots of dairy does not appear to agree with me. Lots of tomato sauce also does not agree with me. Unfortunately, I had pizza and chicken parm (and then leftovers) this week, so I got lots of experience with my body disagreeing with my meal choices.

Gender? IT'S A BOY!

Sleep: Yes, please.

What I miss: Being able to comfortably lie on my back.

What I am looking forward to: Preparing for Baby Boy's arrival - I've started work on consigning a lot of the girl stuff we have and will likely not need again as well as taking stock of what we need for Baby #2. There isn't much, which is good, but I'm excited to plan and prepare for him like we did for Elle.

Weekly Wisdom: Time is flying.

Milestones: None.
