In the twisted world of "Discoveries by a New Parent," I present to you the newest way I know that Elle has grown in the last four weeks: Her nostrils.
She was quite fussy yesterday, and after one crying fit, she had some boogers that I decided needed to be aspirated ASAP. The nasal aspirator intimidates me, because when I first tried to use it the week after she came home from the hospital, I couldn't fit it in to her nostril. I felt like I was jabbing her without cause, since it wasn't sucking anything out. Eventually, she sneezed that booger all the way out. But last night, Tim and I decided to try to snag her latest snot, and the nasal aspirator FIT in to her tiny nostril. It was still a challenge because she's more squirmy now, and we worried that we'd accidentally hit her eye or cheek with the aspirator, but it definitely fit in her nose.
Lame way to gauge that she has grown? Yes. But a way just the same.
