Week 30 update

Baby is still the size of a squash.

How far along? 30 weeks.

Total weight gain/loss: I had a doctor's appointment this week, and he mentioned my weight as an afterthought (I think he was just trying to think of something to say because everything looked fine). I was up 5 or 6 pounds, but considering I'd had a birthday and a vacation since my last visit, I wasn't terribly shocked by that. I'm up 18 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight.

Maternity clothes? I bought a few new shirts (all on super sale/clearance) to help get me through the last few weeks. I'm pretty much over all maternity bottoms at this point.

Best moment this week: I rather enjoyed these bonus photos:

Symptoms: Some swelling in my feet. Definitely exhaustion. The hot flashes - I feel like I'm going to die for about two hours before bed, and the rest of the time I feel fine. I know pregnancy hormones can do crazy things, but I never experienced anything like this while pregnant with Elle, and this has been pretty consistently every night. Hoping it doesn't last!

Movement: I think I was able to get three or four workouts in, and I was happy with that. Dr. S. told me three times a week is good right now, so I'm aiming for at least that.

Food cravings: I've reached the point where I can't eat much at any given time, but I have to eat frequently. I've been eating a lot of fruit - it helps for the "small meals" and just tastes perfect considering the summer heat is starting to move in. I'm all about watermelon right now.

Aversions: Big meals.

Gender? IT'S A BOY!

Sleep: Not sleeping great, but it could be worse.

What I miss: Being able to get out of bed without feeling like I need a crane to move me.

What I am looking forward to: Having this baby. I think I spent the first few months thinking about how much work it's going to be, but I'm at a point where I'm really excited to meet him and start our next adventure as a family of four ... Elle is at such a fun (although challenging age) that I'm excited that we get to go through all of the fun again, too.

Weekly Wisdom: It's a good thing if the only thing the doctor can mention at your appointment is that your weight gain "might be slightly on the high side."

Milestones: Less than two months of work until I'm on maternity leave!
